ASMACS Recruitment Services, Inc.
Safety officers rarely get the spotlight, yet every time a project finishes without a serious incident, someone in that role quietly did their job right. They are the ones who spot the loose guardrail before anyone trips, make sure the harnesses actually fit properly, and keep reminding everyone (sometimes the same person three times in one morning) why that small shortcut is not worth the risk. In Saudi Arabia’s power plants, desalination facilities and large construction sites, where the stakes are high and the heat is relentless, those small, consistent actions add up to thousands of safe working hours.
ASMACS Recruitment Services, Inc. is currently placing experienced Safety Officers (also called Safety Supervisors) for permanent full-time roles across major projects in Saudi Arabia. The monthly salary is SAR 4,500, with standard benefits including visa processing, air ticket, accommodation and meals usually arranged by the employer. These positions can start as soon as medical clearance, visa issuance and travel are complete. Applications must be received by March 25, 2026. The employer is looking for male candidates aged 18 and above who already hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Health & Safety, or a closely related field, plus the NEBOSH International General Certificate (or other internationally recognized safety qualification).
Who These Saudi Projects Really Need Right Now
These are not entry-level safety assistant roles. The sites demand someone who has already proven they can enforce standards in tough, high-risk environments.
You will be a strong fit if you bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Environmental, Health & Safety) or similar discipline
- The NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent internationally recognized safety certification)
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Safety Officer / Safety Supervisor
- Specific experience working on Power Plants, Desalination Plants or large Construction projects
- At least some GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) experience – Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain or Oman
- Preferable (but not mandatory): previous work on Photovoltaic (PV / solar) projects
- Thorough understanding of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) standards
- Strong people skills – you can explain rules clearly, gain buy-in from workers, and handle pushback professionally
- Good written and spoken English – clear reports, toolbox talks, incident documentation
- Solid Microsoft Office skills (Word for reports, Excel for tracking, PowerPoint for training sessions)
- A calm, firm, fair leadership style – you lead by example and keep safety first without being heavy-handed
- A valid passport ready for visa processing
GCC experience is required because local regulations, heat stress protocols, site culture and emergency procedures differ from other regions. If you have walked dusty construction sites in 45°C heat and still kept your team focused on safe lifting, confined-space entry or electrical isolation, you already speak the language these employers need.
What Your Week Actually Looks Like
Shifts are typically long (10–12 hours) and follow the project schedule – early mornings to avoid peak heat, six days a week is common.
You will spend your time:
- Conducting daily safety inspections and toolbox talks before work starts
- Checking PPE compliance, scaffolding tags, permit-to-work documents, and lockout/tagout procedures
- Monitoring high-risk activities – lifting operations, hot work, confined-space entry, excavation
- Investigating near-misses and incidents – writing clear reports, identifying root causes, recommending fixes
- Delivering safety inductions and refresher training for new workers and subcontractors
- Updating safety registers, inspection logs, incident records and audit findings
- Liaising with site engineers, supervisors and workers to resolve safety concerns quickly
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, local Saudi regulations and client-specific standards
- Participating in emergency drills and reviewing evacuation plans
- Keeping accurate documentation so audits and client reviews go smoothly
You will work outdoors in heat and dust most days, so physical fitness, hydration discipline and heat-stress awareness are non-negotiable. The role demands both technical knowledge and people skills – you enforce rules firmly but fairly, and you earn respect by being consistent and approachable.
Why Safety Officers Keep Returning to Saudi Projects

Here is what makes these roles appealing:
- Monthly salary SAR 4,500 (tax-free)
- Permanent full-time contract with regular hours
- Visa, air ticket, accommodation and meals usually arranged by the employer
- Overtime pay when extra hours are required
- End-of-service benefits (Saudi Service Award) calculated by years worked
- Opportunity to work on large-scale power, desalination and PV projects
- Living in Dammam or nearby – modern compounds, good amenities, growing expat community
- The professional satisfaction of helping keep thousands of workers safe every day
- Internationally respected experience – NEBOSH + GCC project background opens many future doors
Safety professionals with GCC experience often renew contracts multiple times. The salary supports a comfortable lifestyle (especially with accommodation/meals covered), and the chance to contribute to Saudi Vision 2030 infrastructure projects adds real purpose.
